Meet Maurice Shaw
Maurice Shaw is the Founder and Managing Director of The Copperfield Group, LLC, an independent consultancy firm that provides risk management services to the energy and utility markets.
Before founding The Copperfield Group, Maurice worked in various management capacities. He began his business career working in real estate, specifically the development of affordable housing. His first job was as an accountant; he then worked his way into business development and ultimately the chief operating officer. Before leaving the real estate industry, Maurice earned a Master’s degree from Houston Baptist University – College of Business and Economics. Upon earning his MBA, he entered the energy industry working for some of the industry stalwarts; e.g., EOTT Energy, LG&E Energy and finally Duke Energy. He has an extensive background in enterprise-wide risk management, specifically credit, market, and operational risk.
Maurice is a graduate of Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and he holds a MBA from Houston Baptist University.
